Athena

Athena is a powerful figure with deep knowledge of portals and the forces that govern passage between worlds. She was the one who opened the portal that Haley was fleeing toward through the woods — an escape they had prearranged. Athena knows more about Ross than she lets on, and her presence at his funeral carries weight that most attendees do not understand. In Book III, she is taken hostage by Mantso as he attempts to force-transport his people through portals.
